Abstract
abstract
Regulated deficit irrigation (RDI) is an efficient strategy to improve water use efficiency (WUE) and control vigor in grapevine, allowing an optimal grape maturity and therefore a high fruit quality. In this study, the effect of RDI on quantitative and qualitative characteristics in grapevine a study was performed using split plot in randomized complete block design with three replications on three commercial grape cultivars, Keshmeshi, Sahebi and Sharabi. Treatments were full irrigation (Control) and RDI in the period between veraison to harvest at 80, 60 and 40% of grape water requirement. The total phenol, flavonoid and antioxidant capacity in grapevine after RDI were significantly alter according to cultivars. Sahebi cultivar subjected to 80% RDI showed a significantly lower phenol content and subjected to 40 and 60% RDI showed higher total phenol then the control. In the Sharabi cultivar, most of the quality traits increased under RDI treatments than control. Also, the results showed that the berry mineral in 80% RDI treatments did not show significant differences in comparison with control, however in Sahebi and Sharabi cultivars 80% RDI increased nitrogen content of berry. In general, results suggested that 80% RDI might be sufficient to water saving and quality improvement of Keshmeshi, Sahebi and sharabi under the study conditions.
